Sony Ericsson W890i Design and Construction

Sony Ericsson W890i mobile phone was designed with clean shapes and straight lines. Sony Ericsson certainly showed that minimal design still looks good. Its keypad is stuffed all the way down in the front panel which is comfortable to use. Viewing comes in the 2 inches 256K QVGA TFT screen display, with just the right brightness and contrast and no legibility issues under direct sunlight.

A secondary camera is located above the screen and just below it are the navigational keys designed in circular patterns. The keypads have changed since W880 edition which makes typing more convenient.

The knob to release the battery cover is located at both sides of the mobile phone which is a design never seen in other Sony Ericsson device. The dedicated key for the camera and volume rocker located at the right side which can also be used to zoom in and out pictures and record videos. While the Walkman key, finished in gold is located in the left side together with the usual Fast port, USB cable and headset.

The location of the memory card slot can be easily located because of the M2 logo just beneath the Fast port. It might be inconvenient for some because the battery cover needs to be removed first before to reveal the memory card slot. Just under the battery section is the SIM card slot.

As usual the 3.2 MP camera is located at the back panel of the mobile phone, together with the Sony Ericsson and Walkman logos and the loudspeaker grill.
