Sony Updates Portable Photo Printer Line

While Sony isn’t exactly too accomplished when it comes to portable photo printers, that doesn’t stop the company from trying. You get the FP95 and FP75 this time round, where both are capable of printing 4″ x 6″ images without taking up too much time. The latter is a more basic model, featuring a 3.5″ display and simpler editing functions such as enlargement, rotation and color tweaking. As for the FP95, that model supports SD, xD, Memory Stick, CF and microdrive memory formats, an automatic touch-up featture, live previews, filter effects, a slightly larger 3.6″ LCD display, and HDMI output to display your captured images on a HDTV (Bravia, preferably). Both models will ship this April, with the FP95 retailing for $200 while the FP75 is cheaper at $150.

Here are loads of awesome pics of the new Sony Ericsson W61S Cyber-shot. The phone looks beautiful in all three colors. How I wish Sony Ericsson would make one of these outside of Japan. Enjoy the pics!

Sony DSLR-A350, Official Specs, Complete Photo Gallery

[PMA 2008] Besides the higher 14.2 Megapixel resolution, the Sony A350 is similar to its sibling the A300. The higher resolution has the side effect of slowing down the burst shooting slightly, going from 3fps down to 2.5fps. That’s the price to pay for the extra details in these photos. Check out our complete Sony A350 photo gallery.

  • 14.2 Megapixel sensor
  • Image Stabilization
  • 18-70 f3.5-4.5 kit lens
  • 2.5 fps burst shooting
  • Compact Flash
  • 2-way tilt LCD display (2.7”)

Available in March 2008  for $799 (body only) or $899 (with kit lens)

No 120GB PlayStation 3, According to Sony Europe

A recent rumor about a possible 120GB Playstation3 (PS3) was generating some buzz on the web, but Sony has responded officially to say that no such thing is in the works… at least in the UK.

“We do not currently have any plans to release a 120GB PlayStation 3 in the UK” (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, SCEE)

The working is a little weird and I’m sure that someone will ask: “What about outside the U.K?”

Sony Ericsson announces W61S and W62S in Japan

Sony Ericsson is one nasty company. They keep all their best products for Japan. It’s like they don’t want to compete with high-end Nokia phones in Europe… Whatever the case is, they’ve just announced two new phones for the Japanese market - W61S and W62S. Let’s briefly introduce them, shall we…

The Sony Erisson W61S slider seems like an ultimate Cyber-shot phone. Aside from the 5.11 megapixel CMOS sensor which uses the same “Exmor” technology from Sony’s Pro Alpha DSLR, this baby also rocks other technologies like Kaokime Lite (auto adjusts brightness upon face detection for best possible facial tones), Smile Shutter Lite (auto shutter release upon detecting a smile), anti-shake, auto-focus and 3x optical zoom. Then there’s the EV-DO Rev. A support, 2.8″ WVGA (480?—800) screen which boasts “Reality MAX” technology from Bravia, TV-Out, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD slot, and more. Available in April 2008 in 3 colors - Spectrum Pink, Shadow Black and Prism White.

Then there’s the W62S global roaming clamshell which has 2 megapixel camera, WQVGA (432×240) screen, and microSD slot. Once it hits the market, it will be available in Silver-Leather, Black-Rose and White-Lime.

Sony Ericsson W62S

Now folks from Sweden (Ericsson), please tell your Japanese partners to move some of those things over to Europe and America. We’ll certainly know how to appreciate it… ;)
