Sony Ericsson K850 disassembly guide:

If you require a new screen and screwdrivers, they can be purchased here: http://www.formymobile.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=k850lcd

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, Torx 5 screwdriver
Using the torx 5 screwdriver remove the two screws which hold the battery cover in place, located where the screwdriver is pointing in the picture below

With the battery cover now removed you can remove the back cover. Run a credit card all the way round the edge of the housing to release the clips which hold it in place

Your phone should now be in 3parts, like below. Remove the two torx 6 screws at the top of the phone, circled in red. You can now release the front cover

With the front cover removed your phone will look as below. Lift the keypad part from left to right to access the ribbon from the LCD

The ribbon from the LCD, pointed to in the picture below, is attached like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up to detach it

Lift away the old LCD. It will be held in place quite tightly by clips around the edge of the housing. Just give it some gentle force and it’s release

Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly

Hello, I have a Sony Ericsson k850i, and it has a the sim card reader with a pin broken, so when I put my sim card, appears in the screen “Insert sim”. I want to know if it’s possible to change the sim card reader, or how can it repairs, so I can put the sim card normally. I’ll appreciate your help.
