Firstsing unveils PS3 step down adapter

Europeans who decided not to pay an exorbitant price for the PS3 will definitely look to imported consoles which are way cheaper after conversion. Firstsing from China has developed a step down AC adaptor for Europeans that comes in the shape of a tiny PS3 console. The strange thing is, the word PS3 on this step down adaptor does not feature the Spiderman font, relying instead on the PS2 font. Still, the design offers a vast improvement over the huge step down converters that you get at the local hardware store. The Firstsing PS3 step down converter comes with a built-ni fuse and a cooling fan, retailing for $16.77.

MadCatz PS3 keyboard is cringe-worthy

Looks like the PS3 is getting peripherals that seem to suit its looks, and I don’t mean it in a positive manner. The MadCatz QWERTY keyboard attachment for Sony’s latest console looks fine by itself, but from the practical viewpoint, you would have a much harder time typing on it. Taking the opposite route as the Xbox 360’s keyboard attachment by being placed on top, you can’t even access the keys with any finger while holding the Sixaxis. The MadCatz QWERTY keyboard is up for grabs for $30 a pop, and sales are like to mirror that of the console its suppose to hook up to - dismal, to say the least.

PS3 receives Eye Cam

Looks like the PS3 platform will also receive some gaming goodness from a different dimension, courtesy of the PlayStation Eye. The Eye is a vast improvement over its predecessor, the EyeToy that was used for the PS2. The new PlayStation Eye comes with an improved sensor that helps lower-light scenes while offering a vastly improved frame rate for motion-sensitive games. For instance, a VGA resolution image is capable of running at 60fps, while a smaller QVGA image runs at double that speed. New software called EyeCreate also comes bundled with the PlayStation Eye when it is reduced this summer at a yet undisclosed price.
