Sony’s new NV-U92T portable navigation device is an extremely slim GPS navigation system, measuring a mere 2cm in depth. Features include a lovely 4.8″ ultra-wide touchscreen display, gesture command support (just draw a house and it will be able to point you home), 2GB of internal memory with a Memory Stick slot for memory expansion options, a TMC receiver, and Position Plus technology that ensures accurate, uninterrupted routing despite having a temporary loss of GPS signal - definitely nifty feature to have when traveling under a bridge or between tall buildings. Pricing and availability details are still unknown.

Sony will be releasing the NV-U72T personal navigation device throughout Europe when June rolls around, featuring 2GB of flash memory that holds maps of 21 Western European countries. In addition, Sony will throw in a new windshield mount that can be folded and fitted onto itself, making a drastic departure from traditional windshield mount designs. The NV-U72T also boasts the “gesture command” feature that enables you to sketch a simple figure on the screen to let the device know which common destination you’re headed to, such as home, parking, or gas stations. A 3.5″ anti-glare, fingerprint proof display has also been thrown into the fray, although I’m curious to know how the anti-fingerprint technology works. Pricing details are currently unknown.

Sony D3000 rolling out this summer

Sony’s latest HDTV effort, the Bravia D3000 comes with Motion Flow technology that was designed to remove the judder you get whenever your eyes are treated to fast moving scenes on a flat panel TV. This problem can be countered because the TV is also capable of showing films in 24 frames per second, along with interpolated frames thrown into the fray automatically to smooth out any potential juddery motion. In case purists claim that this will cause havoc with certain films’ charm, the D3000 is equally capable of leaving enough judder as the director intended it thanks to the Theatre mode. No word on how much it costs, but like most Sony products it should be overpriced.

Sony shows European love

Sony is set to release the Giga Juke bookshelf speaker set in Europe this June, although those of us living across the pond won’t be receiving even a single shipment. Americans now have a cause for envy since the Giga Juke features an integrated 80GB hard drive, an LCD interface for controlling and accessing audio tracks, support for MP3, linear PCM audio, and ATRAC, and an auto-generating playlist. There is no word on pricing at the moment, but now is a good time to start saving up for a set when summer rolls around.

More Sony Ericsson spyshots

Sony Ericsson has been doing quite a good job in the cellphone market, and this has led to plenty of “spyshots” of apparent upcoming phones. What you see here are the “Sneff” and rumored W750 handsets, and while we don’t have nuts on the “Sneff”, the grapevine tells us that the W750 will be a next- generation Walkman phone. Hopefully Sony Ericsson will be able to shed more light on this matter at CTIA. What do you guys think - are they just imaginations of a fanboy, or are both handsets currently being developed secretly in a hidden Sony Ericsson lab somewhere?
